The Old Smoke House

Enjoying an unrivalled position and stunning views over the sea, harbour entrance and beach, these four award winning cottages lie at the very eastern edge of Whitby yet only a 300 yard walk down cobbled streets to the harbour bridge.

Sensitively rebuilt from a former old smoke house, they offer well designed and luxuriously appointed, spacious interiors, with oak flooring, double glazing and cosy heating. Their location will delight whatever the season – in summer, for the pleasures of a safe beach just 100 yards from the door, and in winter, for the exhilarating drama of crashing waves and spectacular views.

A traditional fishing town with a maritime heritage, its harbour often graced by tall ships, Whitby boasts the Captain Cook Museum, craft and antique shops, galleries, jewellers selling the famous Whitby Jet, tea rooms, gourmet fish restaurants, pubs galore and a host of other attractions. Extensive walking can be enjoyed locally on the Cleveland Way cliffs top paths or surrounding moorlands whose pretty villages are also a delight to explore.
